Overview

julie ("the App") is a cat translator app developed by Razeen Ali. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how the App works.

Camera Usage

The App uses your device's camera to detect cats in real-time using on-device Vision framework processing. Camera frames are processed locally on your device for animal detection. When you tap "Translate," a single image is sent to our server for AI caption generation. No images are stored or shared without your explicit action.

Data We Collect

• Anonymous User ID: RevenueCat generates an anonymous identifier to manage your subscription. We do not collect your name, email, or Apple ID.
• Translation Images: When you translate a cat, the image is uploaded to our servers (Convex) to generate a caption via Google Gemini AI. Images are stored to enable your translation history.
• Usage Data: We track the number of translations per day to enforce free tier limits. No personally identifiable information is associated with this count.

Third-Party Services

• Convex: Backend infrastructure for data storage and serverless functions.
• Google Gemini:AI model used to generate cat captions from images. Images are sent to Google's API for processing.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management. Handles purchase validation and entitlement checking.

Data Retention

Translation images and captions are stored until you delete them from your history. You can delete individual translations at any time from within the App. Deleted translations are soft-deleted and removed from your view immediately.

No Tracking or Advertising

The App does not use any advertising frameworks, analytics SDKs, or tracking pixels. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
